Perks of a cozy living room

So the whole family goes over to my grandmothers for the holidays. Were a large family might I add, so seating for everyone is idle, especially for Christmas and Thanksgiving and such. Something about her couches are so inviting and cozy like this one from @Nicheinteriors and until now I haven't reached a conclusion as to why it seems to be that way. I realized that sectionals are the most appealing type of couch to most people. The way it is shaped creates a lot of space for everyone and makes you want to cozy up under a nice blanket with a book and a cup of tea #lol. Not only is the couch an important factor but the natural light coming from the windows in the morning and the soft lighting from the fireplace in the nighttime brings people in to enjoy both natural lighting aspects. From the comfy couches to the abundance of pillows, I've created a list of things that makes the living room more comfy than ever. #readyfornetflix

Hot coco by the fireplace? I think yes!

Light up the room with some heat. The fireplace should speak for itself, let it be the focal point in a room. The warm inherently cozy fireplace should be decorated with a large mirror over head or things like plants and photo frames resting on its top.

The oversized couch

Oversized sectionals are the immediate way to go when approaching living room furniture. Not only is it a welcoming item, but it fits an abundance of people. Dinner parties or just a casual day at home, oversized couches never fail to give off just the right amount of a comforting vibe.

Lighting is key... Again!!!!

Just like in every room lighting is important in order to capture a cozy feeling. One lamp isn't going to cut it, overhead lighting is vital to hit and illuminate all corners of the room. An overhead lamp hanging over a couch does an amazing job but to capture the perfect lighting technique, overhead lighting is crucial.

Having lots of books doesn't make you a nerd, No way! Books can be the PERFECT piece to a puzzle. On top of coffee tables, side tables, underneath tables, even stacked up next to a couch. Books are commonly the perfect accent and no you don't have to spend a ton of money on them either! Large coffee table books can be found at thrift stores or even lying somewhere in your storage room or garage.

Layers!

Warm and cozy designs don't only have to be for the bedroom or reading nook. Some of the most important items for a cozy living room are blankets, rugs, and pillows. Pillows over top each other on the couch make it more inviting, almost like you want to jump in with them #Pillowfight. Stacking rugs atop one another fills space and make even the floors seem excited and inviting to guests.
